The schedule owns no dates. Sign-off, order, ship, delivery and install are facts the project already records, and the schedule draws them: a lane per item across five stages, the order-by date each install needs, an arrival projected from the vendor's lead time and marked as a projection. When a bar is wrong, a fact is wrong, and the fix is made on the fact — from the lane, with the same fields the item editor writes.
What it does
- Draw a lane per item across five stages — Design, To order, On order, In transit, Received — from the sign-off, order, ship and delivery dates the project already holds
- Show the order-by date each install needs, and say plainly when it has passed
- Project arrival from the vendor's lead time and the confirmed ships-by date, and mark the projection as a projection
- Summarize the project in one line — next install, items in transit, on order, to order, and items without an install date
- Group by room or by vendor; show the full life-cycle or lead time only; show projections or facts only
- Set an install date, confirm a ships-by date, or set an item's or a vendor's lead time from the lane
- Read a partial shipment as In transit, and take a lead, install date or delivery date posted on the order without a second entry here
- Open any item's lane by link from elsewhere in the project
What it doesn't do
- The schedule stores no dates of its own. There is no drag-to-reschedule; moving a bar means changing the fact behind it
- No dependencies or critical path. This is furniture, not construction sequencing
- Arrival dates are typed on the purchase order. Wellsourced does not query carriers or vendor systems
- One project at a time. There is no studio-wide schedule
- Not a client-facing surface. Nothing on the schedule reaches a share link
- No print or export
