Rolls are not area divided by coverage. A strip is the ceiling height plus trim, rounded up to the repeat, half a repeat more for a drop match; a roll holds a whole number of strips; waste is applied to strips. The calculator does that arithmetic and shows its work. Room dimensions come from the last confirmed measurement or from the binder pages Ask cites; roll specs come from the wallcovering's own attributes. Everything is shown with its source and can be changed before the number is produced.
What it does
- Count rolls by strips per roll — strip height rounded up to the pattern repeat, half a repeat added for a drop match, waste applied to strips, never to area
- Handle murals and panel sets as whole sets by their horizontal repeat
- Fill roll specs from the wallcovering's typed attributes, and room dimensions from the last confirmed measurement or from pages Ask cites in the binder
- Show where every value came from — the spec page, the sum of cited walls, or the product — and take a correction to any of them
- Report the answer in single and double rolls, with the assumptions that produced it
- Save confirmed room dimensions to the room for next time, and the entered roll specs back to the product
- Carry the lot warning where the quantity is set — order the full quantity in one purchase order
What it doesn't do
- Wallcovering and room area only. No tile, fabric yardage, paint, rug or drapery calculators
- Openings are recorded and not deducted; the full perimeter is papered
- The result is shown, not written to the item's quantity. The designer decides the number
- Imperial units only
